Denise Taylor
Founder, Design Director • M.A., Allied ASID
A serious case of wanderlust brought London-born Denise Taylor stateside after earning her undergraduate degree in fashion design and marketing from London’s prestigious Central St Martin’s School of Art and Design, followed by a master’s in interior design from the University of Westminster School of Architecture.
After 15 years with senior design experience in several high-profile U.S. design firms, Denise launched Aspen Design House in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley in 2020.
For Denise, every home should tell the story of those who live within it. She puts a fresh spin on the concept of working within the walls of a structure, completely thinking outside the box with playful intent.
An inveterate traveler with a sophisticated global client base, she delves deeply into culture, history, maker traditions, and place, finding inspiration—and remarkable resources for her team’s standout interiors—along the way, even as her early start in the fashion world fuels her discerning eye for detail and rich appreciation of textiles and tone.
Geneva “Gigi” Podolak Knox
Lead Designer • Allied ASID
An Aspen native, Gigi did not need to be asked twice to return to her hometown to join Aspen Design House as a lead designer in 2020. As the daughter of a realtor, her passion for properties was ignited at an early age. She earned an architectural degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado Boulder and quickly launched a career in interior design.
Beginning her design career in the Aspen Valley led to years of experience with high-end Aspen architecture and interior design firms, giving her a breadth of knowledge in interior architecture and custom furnishings.
After she relocated to the Front Range and immersed herself in the world of bespoke furnishings and fabrics at a luxury showroom, trips to manufacturing houses in Paris, Venice, and Milan filled her address book with valuable connections from hand-printed wallpaper creatives to handloom fabric makers.
A lifelong learner, Gigi’s innovative mindset is constantly inspired by travel and the arts, even as she brings a wealth of architectural understanding to the Aspen Design House team with her innate sense of space planning and structural purpose.
Stephanie Massmann
Project Manager • Allied ASID
Iowa native Stephanie Massmann earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Iowa State University, turning a passion into a career.
Stephanie is inspired by the mountains she calls home, taking every opportunity to bring a sense of the outdoors in on each of her projects.
Her attention to detail is evident in her ability to converge architectural aspects with material finishes that reflect her client’s distinctive personalities and lifestyles.
Her quest for inspiration is wide ranging, from time spent in nature to attending art fairs to traveling. Exceptionally community minded, Stephanie seeks to the work of local creatives to weave into Aspen Design House interiors whenever possible.
Her easygoing personality coupled with strong organizational skills ensures a seamless transition from inception to completion for each and every client.
